Welcome
Norman, Viking and Anglo-Saxon Living History & Combat Re-enactment
in South and East Kent

We are the Milites de Bec, a group that re-enacts aspects of Norman, Viking and Anglo-Saxon life in 10th and 11th century Britain.

For the would-be axe-wielding Viking, spear-fighting Anglo-Saxon or maybe sword-brandishing Norman we offer the chance to learn early medieval fighting styles for the weapons of the day.

Of course if dying for your noble lord (sometimes twice in the same day!) does not appeal to you, then we also train in the civilian crafts of the period from woodworking to cooking to music, there is plenty on offer!

Where else are you allowed to run around fighting your friends in competitive battles, camp in some spectacular locations, learn historical crafts and spend your evenings relaxing around a campfire?

We are primarily based in Canterbury but recruit all over South and East Kent. You can find us in front of Keynes College (University of Kent, Canterbury) on most Sunday afternoons.

During the summer, we spend many weekends displaying historical battles and civilian crafts at re-enactment shows up and down the country, working for councils, museums and special events.

If you wish to contact us do so here.
